Quantum & Woody seem to be back from the “otherverse,” though their quantum bands are gone and now their powers no longer work when they are close together. They’ve also brought others from the otherverse. Quantum brought back his wife from the otherverse while Woody… well… Woody brought someone back. He/she is all covered in bandages but even before the bandages, we couldn’t really tell who this mystery person is. Just read the book and let the guesses fly.
I’m not sure where this book is headed and that’s part of the joy of it. I’m in it for the fun ride and so far, that’s exactly what it has been. Quantum & Woody! is even referred to as the Valiant funny book by fans, and with this issue, that humor we all love is back after two serious issues.
Writer Eliot Rahal is still telling an interesting story that is full of laughs and fun to read. Joe Eisma takes over art duty and it looks good, maybe not as tight in the line and smooth as previous artists but it still conveys the story throughout each panel. The cover is a pretty killer image by Tom Fowler. True it makes them look more aggressive and intimidating than the brothers are but it’s a killer image!!!
With the news that Quantum & Woody are being developed by the Russo Brothers (Directors of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4) for a TV show on TBS, I’d say that it secures this book as a good ongoing series for some time to come.
Wrap Up
Quantum & Woody! is a fun book, with fun stories, that take your mind off of real life and pull you into this wonderful dynamic that these two brothers exist in. It’s just a completely enjoyable book to read and laugh out loud with, and you will most likely laugh out loud with the jokes within.
