Many designer likes to come up with their own creative icon packs and make them available to those who don’t want to use stock icon on their device. Phunktastic Designs is one of those icon pack designers to help you either get started with your first icon pack or if you’re in the market looking for something different. Let’s get started with this review on the Ergon-2, Reflector, and Huel-Freeze icon packs.
Ease Of Installation
I’ve said this in my last icon pack review that installing icon packs is extremely easy, at least when it comes to downloading them. As for applying the icons, it’s just as easy. Ergon-2 and Reflector icon packs work the same way when it comes to navigation and applying them. Just choose the hamburger menu on the left hand side, tap apply, then choose your launcher. Huel-Freeze was the easiest as all you needed to tap on was the launcher you have installed once the app opened thanks to Quick Apply.
Difficulty/Ease Of Use
Neither of the three icon packs were difficult to use as icons were easy on the eyes when it came to seeing which application you were about to tap on or even looking at. Ergon-2 and Reflector kept catching me off guard, but I’ll get to those later in the “Enjoyability” section of the review. Huel-Freeze only gave me one issue when it came to the Amazon app. I wasn’t able to tell what app it was unless I put the phone closer to my face because of the small lettering in the app design because it was a little hard to read.
Productivity
Like many other icon packs, productivity is great no matter what way you look at it. All the icons are made clear enough to help you on knowing which app you’re choosing and going from there. Ergon-2, Reflector, and Huel-Freeze did not come up short handed as far as productivity goes.
Enjoyability
Ergon-2 and Reflector are very similar, but there is a difference between the two that you can notice. Mainly the colors and backgrounds for icons that didn’t have a design to them. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I kept thinking I didn’t change between the icon packs when I really did. It took a little time to get used to, but again, I was able to tell a difference eventually when it came to the apps that stayed stock and the background to them changed.
Huel-Freeze on the other hand was my favorite due to purple being one of my favorite colors. Mixing purple and blue turned out really well even with them being the primary colors for the icons. All in all, these three icons packs were created really well.
Price/Value
Pricing on these icon packs can’t get any better! Ergon-2 and Reflector are both $1.00USD each and Huel-Freeze is $1.29USD. No matter what way you look it at, you won’t be wasting your money on just some icon pack that may never get updated to support more apps. Even for a low price, you’re getting more than what you paid for.
Wrap Up
Phunktastic Designs did a wonderful job at creating these icon packs and I’d recommend them to anyone who needs something new. Not every icon pack is going to be perfect as there were a few applications I had that didn’t change from stock, but nonetheless it’ll get supported when the time comes. Keep up the good work Phunktastic, I will be looking forward to other icon packs that may come out in the future.
