Techaeris was founded in 2013 by Alex Hernandez as an alternative to mainstream technology websites. Alex recognized that the mainstream tech sites were primarily owned and operated by large corporate entities who often had conflicting interests in the stories being reported. With Techaeris remaining independently owned and operated, we take pride in keeping corporate bias out of our reporting.
Techaeris also does a fair amount of product reviews. Our approach to product reviews is from the perspective of the average user. We realize that the percentage of average users outweighs the percentage of expert users, and we strive to make our reviews and content easy to consume and understand.
The mission of Techaeris is to offer honest reporting, unique stories, some news coverage, product information/reviews, and social interaction with our readers. Techaeris is also politically neutral, and we do not take a position on such matters. While we may report on the occasional tech story that contains political content, we only report and offer no commentary.
We strive to remain objective and open-minded about technology and label opinion pieces as such.

Alex is a graduate of DeVry University with a B.S. in Computer Networking Management. Alex previously worked at the Department of Energy’s Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in the Business Services Section. Alex is also proficient in computer hardware repair as well as software configuration for both Windows and Mac. After graduating from DeVry, Alex took a keen interest in consumer technology and began writing articles on this subject.
After several stints of writing for other blogs, Alex felt he needed to branch out on his own. In September of 2013, Alex created Techaeris as an alternative to the mainstream technology websites. Techaeris has since grown from having no views to nearly 2 million unique views a year. Alex continues to operate Techaeris independently and without any venture capital or funding.
