Occasionally, we’ve run into frequent questions or comments, hence this new disclaimer page.
Affiliate Links and Reviews
In some of our articles and especially in our reviews, you will find Amazon or other affiliate links. Running a website isn’t cheap and takes money, along with time. Any purchases you make through these links often result in a small amount being earned for the site and/or our writers.
Techaeris and its editors are participants in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com, amazon.ca, or other Amazon websites.
Techaeris reviewers are never paid for their reviews, but they often receive temporary review units and, in some cases, free review units to complete their reviews. All of our reviews are 100% the reviewer’s thoughts and opinions; manufacturers are not given access to any review before publication.
NOTE: Pricing in reviews is accurate at the time the review is posted and may fluctuate over time.
Press Releases
Techaeris often covers brand press releases. Doing this does not constitute an endorsement of any product or service by Techaeris. We provide the press release information for our audience to be informed and make their own decision on a purchase or not. Only our reviews are an endorsement or lack thereof.
Crowdsourcing
Recently we’ve received a number of comments regarding Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and other crowdsourcing campaigns. When we write up a campaign, it’s because we think that it is a cool project and may be worth backing. For the most part, we have not seen, handled, or reviewed the product being crowdfunded. Sometimes we do get these items to preview, and these articles are clearly labeled as reviews. If it’s not labeled as such, then the article is no different than any other press release or informative article that we post.
Unfortunately, the nature of crowdfunding means the product may not always come to fruition or may fall short of detailed expectations. We definitely appreciate comments about failed or undelivered campaigns in the spirit of letting others know, but we are in no way directly affiliated or connected with any of the campaigns we report on.
Contests/Giveaways
We’ve run plenty of giveaways here at Techaeris in partnership with some of our PR contacts, whether it be directly through an OEM or a PR firm. For each of these contests, the Terms & Conditions are clearly laid out underneath the contest entry requirements. While we’d love to include everyone in these giveaways, these items ship direct from the OEM or PR firm, and it’s up to them where they want to ship.
